Coke Studio Pakistan has always been the center of attention. CS garnered millions of listeners over the years and emerged as a standard for renditions and debuts. Let's look at what Episode 3 of this season has brought us.
Mujh Se Pahli Si Muhabbat
The original was sung by Madam Noor Jehan and is considered sacred by veteran musicians. The bars were too high and everybody was expecting too much. Still, Mekal Hassan did a bang-up job. The lustrous Humera Channa and the magnificent Nabeel Shaukat Ali complemented the track and did a great job. Many people still feel that the song is not up to the mark but to be fair, nobody can match Madam's level. So we should applaud to the courage of those who tried and listen to it as a tribute.
Bazi
The melody and lyrics are too good. The way Sahir Ali Bagga and Aima Baig delivered "Sir di Bazi Lag jawe", my heart just floated along the ebb and flow of the track. It was an absolute treat.
Rone Nah Diya
Originally sung by Begum Akhtar, the legend Sajjad Ali and his daughter Zaw Ali pay a tribute to the unparalleled name. Zaw Ali debut speaks volumes about what to expect from the daughter of the legend.
Laal Meri Pat
The Kalam has a rich history. It has been sung dozens of times and every artist has a claim on the melody. Madam Noor Jehan, Reshmaan Ji, Suriya Multanikar, Roona Laila, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sanam Marvi are some of the names who brought us this Kalam. Now, however, Quratulain Baloch proved she has the voice that can break hearts. The track is too good and QBs delivery is mystical. The raw and rough voice is just doing wonders. Arieb Azhar complemented the track.
ENJOY THE MUSIC! KEEP ROCKING.
